After dropping off the kids I started listening to a YouTube series on Buddhism that I signed up for. I usually listen to calming meditation music to calm my mind in traffic, but this morning I needed some motivation. I am not Buddhist, so to speak, but their philosophy on peaceful living is truly intriguing.

One thing of value I took from listening was that humans are conditioned to lead a fear-based life. Wow, isn’t that the truth! Well, that hasn’t really worked out, so I am going to try something different. After all, the definition of insanity is “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” (I know… a way overused cliché)

So, a couple of things to think about today if you feel overwhelmed by your feelings of frustration, anger, sadness or any other feelings that you may see as negative, ask yourself;

Can I stop “this” from happening? (the reason you are feeling the way you are). Then tell yourself, “What I am feeling is real, but not true.” Honor what we feel don’t try to push them down. Accept them and move on. Remember, we can’t control everything, but we can control how we react. Have a peaceful day!
